Six Weeks

Six weeks and counting!!! Jed's getting so strong. He can hold his head up by himself so well. He's eating 5 ounces at every feeding. He has be graciously giving me some 5-6 hour stretches at night. He is sooo peaceful and calm 90% of the time. He only cries if he has gas or if he's really hungry. When he's tired he just passes out where-ever he is. He still totally melts in my arms and I just can't get enough of that. I LOVE rocking him in the rocking chair in my room and just staring at his little face! He is so stinkin cute! I think he looks so much like his Papa whom I happen to think is incredibly cute as well. :)

He loves his Papa! He has smiled for Joey several times and not even one time for me! Bummer. :)... That's ok... My arms calm him... that makes me feel sooo great! :)

He handles tummy time better than any of our other treasures ever did!

I seriously LOVE this face!!!

It has truly been a great six weeks! I am overwhelmingly blessed by our newest little son!

So Far, So Great!!

Siah has been the absolute best big brother to Jed. Every morning he comes in our room and gives Jed a soft kiss on the head. He asks to hold Jed often. He constantly helps me get things that I need to care for Jed... he fetches clean diapers, and throws away dirty diapers. He puts Jed's dirty clothes in the hamper, and puts his empty bottles in the sink for me. He has been a total blessing since we brought Jed home. :)

It is nearly impossible to get a descent picture of all four treasures but that doesn't stop me from trying. :)

And these two.... don't they look alike? Hal is sweet with Jed too. She's the motherly type. She always wants to feed him and put his pacifier in when he's crying. Reesie wants to put the pacifier in too but she more like shoves it into his mouth which causes him to cry harder... but it's a nice thought. :)

I'm so proud of our older treasures and the way that they have welcomed our newest treasure! They ALL have been a total blessing... truly... I'm not just trying to be positive here! :)
I am constantly praying that they all continue to grow up as close friends!
So far, so GREAT! :)

First Family Fun Day

We had our first family Fun day at Garden of the Gods. We packed a picnic lunch and found a shady spot. Papa and the older kids climbed to the top of a giant boulder and Reesie, Jed and Mama hung out and watched. It was so nice to get out and about. :)
Here's some fun pictures...

So Big Already

Jed...
It truly is hard to believe that Jed is three weeks old already. He is so genuinely tender and sweet. He's pretty quiet. He's had two days in the past three weeks that he has been fussy, and the rest of his days he's been peaceful and calm. He loves to look around, check things out, especially his Papa and Mama. I often wonder what's going through his little mind. For such a little guy he seems to have some deep thoughts. :)
He's been a busy bee his first few weeks of life. Already he's been to several parks, to the docotr twice, to church three times, to the zoo, to the Focus on the Family play place, to Woodland Park, to Denver, to Aunt Brooke's house, to the airport, the grocery store, Walmart, and Costco.

At his 2 week appointment he weighed 7lbs, 9 ounces already.

He's pretty predictable... He eats at 8, 11, 2, & 5 both day and night. His predictability is nice but he never really gives me any long stretches. the good news is that he at night he goes right back to sleep after I feed him.

When he's awake he's super alert. I love how he always checking out his little world. He searches the room with his eyes.

I can hardly believe that he is already 3 weeks old. We are more than making it through. I am soaking him up. And even in the night when I think that I can't keep my eyes open any longer, I have still been able to feel great joy in my heart as I spend time alone with my little man, rocking back and forth in our rocking chair in the corner of my room, in the dark of night. Our time is fleeting and I don't want to miss a moment.

Here he is.... Jed at 3 weeks...

Go With The Flow

He is clearly #4...
He just goes with the flow...
All the kids want to hold him and he just goes with it.
I love that about him. :)
